Rumored to sport 12GB of RAM, the iPhone 17 Pro

According to a recent rumor, the iPhone 17 Pro, which is expected to release in 2025, will include a narrower Dynamic Island cutout and 12GB of RAM.

Though Apple has stated that it would not release the iPhone 16 lineup until September 2024, speculation over the iPhone 17 for the following year has not stopped. Though Apple has been looking into ways to conceal parts behind the display for years, not much information about the device has been released thus far.

According to a letter from analyst Haitong International Securities Jeff Pu, Apple will boost the pro model's RAM to 12GB in 2025. Furthermore, Pu thinks that Apple may use new technology to reduce the size of the pill that expands to form the Dynamic Island.

8GB of RAM is a feature of the iPhone 15 range, and it is anticipated that the iPhone 16 lineup will keep it. The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max's upgrade to 12GB would enable better multitasking and more potent apps.

Pu points out that the Face ID system's adoption of a smaller meta lens may cause the Dynamic Island to narrow. According to some speculations, Apple may reduce the cutout by concealing parts of the device—like the selfie camera—beneath the display.

These two rumors coming from Pu aren't particularly shocking. These are apparent advancements that could be deduced by conjecture.

Pu has a track record of spreading false or ludicrous rumors. As it appears to be Apple's next step, this iPhone 17 Pro rumor has merit, but nothing has been verified by more trustworthy sources as of yet.

In September 2025, Apple will unveil the iPhone 17 range. After the iPhone 16 is released in the fall, it will be simpler to forecast what can be anticipated for those models.
