You can keep Find My iPhone on while having repairs done using the iOS 17.5 beta.

While the phone is being fixed, you will be able to continue tracking it.

Apple may soon allow you to send your iPhone in for repair without having to turn off Activation Lock and Find My iPhone. According to 9to5Mac and MacRumors, Apple plans to release a new "Repair State" mode in the fourth iOS 17.5 beta that will enable anti-theft features to remain active while your iPhone is being fixed.

Turning off Find My is presently a requirement set by Apple and many authorized repair companies while getting your iPhone fixed. According to Apple's support page, this requirement is to "prevent anyone else from getting service for your device without your knowledge."

But, the addition of Stolen Device Protection made disabling Find My a little trickier. When activated, this feature prevents you from doing specific things, such turning off Find My, for one hour. If you forget to off Find My before you get to the Apple Store for a repair, that might not be so handy.

This ought to be altered by the new Repair State option. By inputting your Apple ID and password, you may verify that your phone is being repaired, as noted by 9to5Mac. After that, you can use additional devices to track your phone. When the option is enabled, the device will show up as "Ready for Repair" on the Find My app with a notice stating that the "device remains fully functional," according to 9to5Mac.
